Korey Pelton's Life In One Page!

This is a summary of my life in a single page! Yes, there's lots missing here, but this isn't meant to be in-depth. It's a single page since it's saves me time and it saves you time! If you want more detail, you can simply check out the links you find around this page. I suppose you could consider this page to be a portal, then. :-) Anyway, I will try my best to keep this page updated with my last-taken photo, no matter how hideous, and my current news! So come back soon!

Korey Pelton Birthday: April 3, 1980
Hometown: Pocatello, Idaho, USA
Relationship Status: Taken!
Education: Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Systems Technology (Idaho State University)
Work: IT Specialist/Programmer
Children: 1 daughter

Political Views: I'm not really into politics, but I do love the occasional political/philosophical discussion. I like any politics that promotes the most freedom and the best security; however, that seems to be the very struggle of most political schemes. For instance, if you make seat-belt laws for security purposes, you are taking away people's freedom at the same time. I haven't studied much politics, but that's my observation. I tend to lean more toward freedom than security, however, since freedom is more important to me personally. I guess that makes me somewhat of a libertarian.

Cycling and beer are my hobbies!

Religious Views: Currently, I'm sort of an analytical observer. I absolutely love learning about religion and have read quite a few books about anthropology, philosophy, and religion. I'm fascinated by it because it really gives a good look at the fears, dreams, and hopes of the human race throughout history. If you are up for a nice glass of wine or beer, some cheese and a religious/philosophical discussion, hit me up! :-)

Vocational Skills: My work life has mainly been located behind a computer or in a server room. I have a working knowledge of computer programming, networks, systems administration, database administration, and PC maintenance. I've programmed mainly in Perl, Visual Basic, and SQL while dabbling in PHP, JavaScript, and quite a few other languages. HTML is probably my most used markup language since I find it so dang fun to write and post my pages to the INTARWEBZ. My favorite operating system is Linux because it is free, there's a ton of software that runs on it, it is very flexible, and it lends itself well to what I use computers for: photo processing, writing, reading, net surfing, programming, and so on.

Activities: Reading, writing, cycling, socializing, photography, and drinking good beer!

Interests: Anthropology, history, philosophy, exploring the world by bicycle, and becoming independantly wealthy!.

Favorite Music: I like listening to the "best of the best" of every genre! However, I usually find myself listening to radioparadise.com (eclectic rock radio) and 80s music and oldies on sky.fm. I'm severely bored with the local stations here in Pocatello, Idaho. Oh, and I try to play the piano every now and then, too, with emphasis on the word try ;-p

Movies: I recently watched the The Mist, a Stephen King sci-fi movie, and I was very impressed; and it usually takes a lot to impress me in the movie realm, by the way. I usually end up making fun and laughing through most movies, regardless of the genre; just ask my friends :-) Anyway, this movie is philosophically deep and has a ton of great action, and you rarely find that combination in any movie. Oh, and I loved Horton Hears a Who!

Favorite Books: My latest favorite book is Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. It is an anthropology book for the lay person, which is right down my alley. This book widened my perspective of the people of the world greatly and I recommend this book to anyone who asks the question, "how did the people in this world get to this point and why are things the way they are today?" or maybe, "why didn't the natives in the Americas conquer Europe instead of the other way around?" Yeah, this book answered a lot of burning questions for me.

About Me: The only true description of a person is how others view you, I suppose. Most people have said I am the following: funny, way too serious, profound, a good asset to the company, a tough guy, and a dinglesnarf, among other things ;-)
